Zinc oxide is a mineral (physical) UV filter that sits on the skin and reflects and absorbs broad-spectrum UVA and UVB rays. Gentle and non-irritating, it is favoured for sensitive and blemish-prone skin, though richer formulas can leave a slight white cast.
